Every child living at Jesus Helpers who is of school age is in school. This is not negotiable for us. It is the reason we do this work.
The Education Fund covers term fees for primary and high school, university tuition for those who progress, school uniforms each January, textbooks, exam fees, and the small things that matter to a child trying to belong in a classroom — shoes, a school bag, a calculator before exams. The annual cost per child for school is approximately $480, varying by level.
When term fees are due and the fund is short, the work is harder than it should be. A reliable Education Fund means children begin each term without worrying about whether they will be sent home. A reliable Education Fund is what allowed three of our former children to enter university.
